Metropolitan Pharmacy Network (MPN)
PLEASE NOTE: The Metropolitan Pharmacy Network (MPN) was previously known as the Qualsa Pharmacy Network (QPN).
Several medical schemes that are administered by Metropolitan Health Risk Management (Pty) Ltd have appointed the MPN as the Designated Service Providers (DSPs) for the provision of pharmaceutical services that include chronic, acute and over-the-counter medication.
MPN pharmacies have partnered with our medical schemes in an effort to minimise the cost impact to members by offering to dispense medication at a reduced dispensing fee. This will enable your annual medication benefit to last longer. There will also not be any co-payment due by you provided the medication that is dispensed to you is within the Metropolitan Health Reference Price (MetRef), previously known as the Qualsa Maximum Price (your pharmacist will be familiar with this concept).
Pharmacies on the MPN include Clicks, Dis-Chem, Sparkport, MediRite, Script Saver Pharmacies and several independent pharmacies. These pharmacies are located in all of the major cities, towns and villages and there should be one close to you. There are over 1 100 pharmacies on the Network. Should your pharmacy of choice not be on the Network, then you may nominate the pharmacy and inform the Metropolitan Health Provider Management Department of your nomination by sending an email to pharmacynetworks@metropolitanhrm.co.za and providing us with the name and contact details of your nominated pharmacy. We will endeavour to contract your nominated pharmacy onto the MPN.

For members who do not live close to a Network pharmacy, or who prefer the convenience of home delivery, several of the Network pharmacies offer a courier service at no additional cost.
