Qualsa’s HIV Risk Management Programme manages the care of more than 20 000 HIV-positive patients throughout South Africa, of which approximately two thirds are on antiretroviral (ARV) medication.

Some of our larger clients include Bankmed, Transmed Medical Fund, POLMED, The Foschini Group Medical Aid Scheme, Wooltru Healthcare Fund, Sappi Medical Aid Scheme, BP Medical Aid Society, Engen Medical Benefit Fund and Afrox Medical Aid Society.

Qualsa has developed a checklist to facilitate the clinical process of health risk assessment of your HIV-positive patients. As each patient is unique, the checklist allows flexibility, which will focus and direct you to ensure that all the relevant questions are covered. The checklist may be kept and filed as part of your patient’s records.

This checklist will be mailed to doctors who have submitted HIV-related claims, but whose patients have not been enrolled on the HIV Programme. We highly recommend that you encourage the enrolment of your patients on their relevant medical schemes’ HIV Programme, irrespective of whether ARV medication is required.

Our HIV Programme aims to strengthen the relationship between you and your patients and will assist you in facilitating primary care and promoting good HIV/AIDS management.
